Automatic b-roll for
Premiere Pro.

Plentake reads your transcript and plans b-roll moment by moment — stock footage, AI images and video, motion graphics and punch-in zooms. You review the whole plan and approve before anything touches your timeline.

B-roll that plans itself around what you say

Good b-roll is what separates a flat talking-head clip from something that feels produced — but adding it is tedious. You scrub the timeline, hunt for the right stock shot, drop it in, trim it, repeat. Do that across a ten-minute video and an afternoon disappears.

Plentake's B-Roll Editor works from your words instead. It reads your transcript and plans the b-roll moment by moment — deciding where a visual belongs and what kind fits best. For each moment it can pull stock footage and photos, generate AI images and video, create AI motion graphics, or add a punch-in zoom. You see the full plan, then approve it. Nothing lands on your timeline until you say so.

How automatic b-roll works in Plentake

Three moves, all inside Premiere Pro — no exporting to a browser tool, no re-importing.

1

It reads your transcript & plans

Plentake transcribes your sequence once, then plans the b-roll moment by moment — where each visual goes and what type fits the line you're saying.

2

It fetches or generates each visual

For every moment it pulls stock footage and photos, generates AI images and video, creates motion graphics, or sets up a punch-in zoom.

3

You approve, it places

Review the full plan and approve. An automatic sequence backup is made first, then approved b-roll drops onto your timeline as regular, editable Premiere clips.

Why this is different

Most b-roll tools just hand you a folder of stock clips to place yourself. Plentake builds a moment-by-moment plan from your transcript, mixes stock with AI-generated visuals and motion graphics, and does the placing — all inside your timeline, and only after you approve.

✓ In your Premiere timeline ✓ Moment-by-moment plan ✓ You approve before anything applies ✓ Mix of stock + AI visuals ✓ Horizontal or 9:16 vertical ✓ Editable Premiere clips

What it can place

Step-by-step tutorial

From a raw talking-head sequence to a full b-roll plan on your timeline.

  1. Install Plentake & open the panel

In Premiere Pro: Window → Extensions → Plentake. Sign in — a free account unlocks the A-Roll Cleaner and gives you trial credits for the AI tools.

  2. Transcribe your sequence

In the B-Roll Editor tab, click Generate transcript (or reuse one you already made — your video is transcribed once and shared by every tool).

  3. Let the AI plan the b-roll

Plentake reads the transcript and builds a moment-by-moment plan: where stock footage, AI images and video, motion graphics and punch-in zooms should go.

  4. Fetch & generate the visuals

For each moment Plentake pulls stock or generates the AI visuals and motion graphics — sized to your sequence, horizontal 16:9 or vertical 9:16.

  5. Review the full plan

Preview every clip and adjust the plan before anything touches your timeline. Nothing is applied until you approve.

  6. Approve — clips land on your timeline

Approved b-roll is placed on your timeline as normal Premiere clips. Retime, restyle or remove any of them like any other edit. An automatic backup of your sequence is made first.

Frequently asked

Do I approve the b-roll before it edits my timeline?

Yes. Plentake plans the whole b-roll first and shows you the full moment-by-moment plan. Nothing is placed until you approve — and an automatic backup of your sequence is made before anything is applied.

Can I edit the clips after they're placed?

Yes. Everything lands as normal, editable Premiere clips — move them, retime them, restyle or delete them like any other edit. Approved b-roll is placed on your timeline, not baked into a flat render.

Does it work for horizontal and vertical video?

Yes — b-roll is sized to your sequence, so it works for both horizontal 16:9 and vertical 9:16 (Shorts, Reels, TikTok) timelines.

Does it use my transcript?

Yes. The AI reads your transcript to decide what b-roll fits each moment. Your video is transcribed once and reused by every tool, so you never pay to transcribe it twice.
